It will be goodbye for Narendra Modi: Rahul Gandhi
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav,
his elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav and their elder sister Misa Bharti, who is
contesting against sitting BJP MP and Union Minister Ram Kripal Yadav, were
also present on the occasion. Mr. Tejashwi addressed the meeting, while Mr.
Pratap, who did not get a chance to speak, later blamed a Congress leader for
not allowing him to address the crowd. “I’ll complain to the Congress
president,” he said later.
“All that we hear from PM
Modi these days are inanities like how he has been eating mango by plucking it
from trees and why he wears half-sleeved shirts”, said the Congress president.
“He must answer the questions we’ve been raising on corruption issues…he has
deliberately been avoiding speaking on corruption issues but we’ll not allow
him to escape”, he said.
He also said Chowkidar
(watchman) and the gathered crowd shouted loudly, “chor hai”. He
also spoke about the Congress’ NYAY scheme, and said, “Financial assistance of ₹72,000
per year to poor families which would boost the demand of the commodities and
it will lead to setting up more industries while creating more jobs…it will ultimately
boost our country’s economy.”
Later in the evening, Mr.
Gandhi, along with other State Congress leaders and party candidate from Patna
Sahib constituency Shatrughan Sinha, undertook a huge roadshow from Patna’s
Moin-ul-Haque stadium to Buddha murti (statue
of Buddha) intersection in Kadamkuan area. Mr. Sinha is locked in a tough
battle against BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad. Earlier, BJP president Amit Shah too
had conducted a roadshow in the same area in Patna to garner support for Mr.
Prasad.
