The Indian under-17 women's team suffered a defeat from 0-3 at the hands of Sweden in their first match of the three-country football tournament. Maltida Winberg (fourth minute), Ida Veindenberg (25th minute) and Monica Jusu Bah (90 + 1 minute) scored for Sweden.
India would now play Thailand on Tuesday. Sweden got a penalty kick in the fourth minute, which Vinberg converted into a goal. Sweden got the penalty due to the dropping of striker Bah in the penalty box.

India had a chance to equalize in the 11th and 21st minutes, but the players failed on both occasions. Sweden doubled the lead in the 25th minute and increased the pressure on India and retained its dominance in the second half.
